First of all, thank you for your support for this past year. Meal #50 took place last night and it was incredible, thanks to all of you who came. The photos will be up next week.
To give you an idea how hard core and overboard we went — here is a shot of the empty plates we had stacked at our end of the table at the end of the meal.

So that’s next week. This week we’re visiting a unique lounge in Hollywood — one with house music and good food.

Fantastic Plastic Machine spinning on the DJ station.
Libertine used to be a house — one that was once owned by Charlie Chaplin. The owners of Libertine converted it to a lounge, put in a bar, big sofas, sound system, big flatscreen TVs, and most importantly, a kitchen; manned by executive chef Joshua Dettrow.

Seared Ahi Salad. The seared ahi tuna is thick and beautiful and the salad beneath is exceptionally good, made up of mung bean sprouts, cabbage, and mixed greens. The textures of the sesame crust plays very well with the tuna. It come with a wasabi dipping sauce, but I hardly used it, preferring just the natural taste of the tuna. Totally decent at $18 considering how well it’s made and that it’s almost a meal in itself.

Hurricane Shrimp - Sauteed Prawns in Coconut Chile sauce. Big, beautiful prawns, awesome side seaweed salad.

New Zealand Lamb Chops with Harissa BBQ sauce and side salad. Lamb is always great. And this is a fine example. Tender and flavorful.

Artichoke and spinach dip. Again the presentation is gourmet beautiful with the beautifully baked crust on top and the three colored chips. The baked crust was definitely my favorite part and the rich creamy taste of the dip was very pleasing — perfect with a drink on the side. $9.

Guiness battered popcorn shrimp with Cilantro dipping sauce. The Guiness adds an interesting flavor, I’d like to see this on popcorn chicken as well.

Mini Beef Sliders. Bacon, cheese, mini beef patty on mini buns. The crispy bacon hangs out from the burger itself and is AWESOME. This really hits the spot when you’re hungry and a little tipsy. $9.

Front room
It’s a little hard to describe the place, it’s literally a house that’s been converted into different sitting areas. Prem the DJ (and the co-owner) spins house music and on the weekends there’s an awesome drummer that comes and plays — totally adds to the impact of the music. The vibe is fun, the people are friendly, and there’s good food! This is my new happy place.

Valet parking across the street at Miyagi’s is a little expensive, but very convenient. I’ve always carpooled there with my friends.
