A quick note: Sorry for the delayed posts. It’s been pretty crazy around here. Between the photo studio and a day job and some personal traveling, it’s been hard to put up stuff.
I’m flying out to New York tomorrow. That’s right, I’m hitting the NYC. Now, onto our show…
I never thought I’d do something THIS mainstream American, but the food here is seriously good, you can pick anything on the menu and it’s not going to disappoint, as illustrated with our selection of dishes below. The occasion? Our co-worker Derrick escaped his 3-hour a day commute by quitting, so we took him out for one last harrah.
Rocio looking over the menu. It’s quite a nice place.
The bread (and bruschetta?) is really good. I ate half of my meal right here.
Derrick ordered the penne pasta with 4 cheese cream sauce. I did get a taste, and it’s RICH.
An excellent call by Rocio, this is the Smoked Salmon Pasta.
Daniel had the special of the day and it was SPEC-TA-CU-LAR. The Seafood Risotto has squid, scallops, shrimp, and white fish. This had excellent flavor and I wanted to trade plates with Daniel…
… but I had my own trick up my sleeve. BEHOLD! The Grilled Pork Chop with brandy apple sauce! It’s a great low carb option (”Daniel, would you like some of my mashed potatoes?”) The apple was SO good, and the pork chop was perfectly cooked.
Hehheh, one more shot of the beautiful pork chop.
Well, it’s certainly not a place for someone on a low-carb diet, the bread was so good and the menu is pasta heavy but they’re totally solid. It’s perfect for a business lunch, since the mall it’s in is right next to our office tower in Century City. I’m sure at night it’d be a decent date place too, it’s pretty romantical. I’m the kind of guy who’ll have my date at Spices, it’s a blessing and a curse? Poor gal. I promise I’m capable of nice places, too.
